Hi,
I am in PA and have had nothing but difficult experiences with dentists for my children.
I cannot, for the life of me, seem to find a dentist that does not have a problem with me staying with my sons during their exams and treatment.
If I can be with my children during a doctors appt, why not the dentist?
When my older son was 4, he had tooth decay in 4 teeth. The dentist INSISTED that they had to be crowned. He had to be put under anethesia and it was just a horrible ordeal.
So then, one by one, each tooth that was crowned got infected and had to be pulled.
They wanted to give him nitrous oxide (laughing gas) but I refused. I NEVER had this as a child and my husband had a severe reaction to it. I had to fight tooth and nail to stay with my child while this was being done on 4 separate visits.
Any way, there is so much more to this story but I would have to write a novel, lol.
I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a childrens dentist in the Philadelphia area that will not argue about having the parents in the room during treatment.

That is horrible!

I'll be taking DS to the dentist for the first time soon and I'll make sure to find one where I will be in the room with him.
