Mint Tea - is it ok in pregnancy?

I have been drinking mint tea like CRAZY... it helps with the nausea AND it counts towards my water intake.

But today, I was out with a (pg) friend who said she heard it can cause m/c.

I have never ever heard this, and Googling turned up NOTHING, except perhaps one site selling an herbal tea that did not recommend Wintergreen for pregnancy.

Has anyone else heard of this...?

Well I just picked up a handy little reference guide to food during pregnancy, and in it it says that many herbal teas (including peppermint) are fine to consume during pregnancy.

It just said in moderation (which I don't really know how to quantify that) because peppermint tea can cause contractions.

It also said Chamomile, Red Rasperry, Ginger Root were good for pregnancy.

Yeah, I couldn't live without my teas...
Most of what I've seen is reassuring. I emailed my friend to ask if she had actual FACTS bc it's mean to just say "it can cause mc" knowing my history. :-(
She wasn't trying to be mean, just informative, but still...

I was just given a print out by an herbalist of all herbs either safe, to be used with caution, to be used at the end only and those contraindicated during preganancy.

According to this--peppermint is safe.
Perhaps tonight when I have a bit of time, I'll type out the whole list and ask for it to be stickied. I think it is a good resource to have at hand.

I think that would be a great resource!

I can't say for sure, but I have definitely heard that peppermint tea is recommended to help with nausea especially in the first trimester.
