DH's side of the family is so old fashioned. They are the type that doesnt say sex outloud @@....Well we went over DH's great-Aunts for dinner last night. I was really nervous cause she is so darn opinionated. Diuring dinner she says ever so bluntly...." SO are we breastfeeding?" I shyly said yes (a room full of people)...She says, "Good, I did to and I tell you what, I whipped it out in public" "You are darn right I did, and you better believe people kept their opinions to themselves!!!" OMG I almost fell on the floor! Than she preceeds to ask me if I am still leaking at night and she told a ton of stories about her experiences!! YAY!! I felt so darn good after dinner!!

WAY to go DH's 89yo AUNT!!

Awesome! DH's grandmother (in her early 80's) is avidly supportive of me BF'ing as well, which is great. She's also supportive of CD'ing! Almost everyone I know who hears me say that I CD thinks pins, vinyl pants, etc. but she commended me for not adding to the landfills!

Yeah for enlightened elders!

I love it when older people advocate BFing because they're so straightforward and matter-of-fact about it. I once got "lectured" by a little old lady in a wheelchair at a Mormon church that I should never be ashamed to nurse DS whenever and wherever he needs. She proudly announced that she nursed all her babies. I thought that was the coolest thing and told her so. :-D

I get a kick (and giggle) when my grandfather calls pacifiers nipples and bottles nipples.

Gee, and he ain't at all ashamed to say it, see them, or see women nursing-- becaues using nipples for nursing is what is natural.
