My grandma Mimi died this evening. She was 94.5 years old. I'm so sad. Though she was ready to die. I just can't believe I won't be able to call her anymore. :

My grandmother (Nanny) died about 6 years ago, but it still feels fresh. I was closer to her than anyone else in my family. She was only 73; she suffered from diabetes, congestive heart failure and demensia. Last year, we lost my grandfather too (Pa-Pa). The hardest part is not being able to call them or go visit. I miss my Nanny's sassy tongue and my Pa-Pa's cooking. They were both exceptionally loving and affectionate. I'm especially sad that Nanny didn't live to see Walden born (she wanted great grandchildren soooo badly), and that Pa-Pa died when she was only 1 year old.

I do feel for you, sister.

Christi, I am so sorry about your loss. My grandpa died at 94.5 too, over ten years ago and I still feel sad about it and miss him so much but I have found that I use language he used to, and it brings a special warm, especially when I can share it with my DD's.

She was so special to me. I named my dd after her. She was so happy about that. She gave me her only diamond ring 10 years ago. I cherish that ring as much as my wedding ring. I miss her already. She has only been gone for a couple of hours. I want my mimi back. I was the one who named her that, she was mine all mine, I wasn't about to share her with my brothers The name stuck for 30 years.
