All boys or all girls? Hoping for...?

Anyone else have children of all one gender? We have all boys. I feel almost afraid to hope for a girl because I am almost certain this will be another boy!

A girl would be really amazing. Hoping, hoping!

But another boy is ok, too!

I have two boys and dh would like a girl. OK, like isn't strong enough. He refuses to look at boys names. I really don't care, either way I get to shop I was told if I have a girl some people would throw me a shower which would be fun to get my friends together

LOL! That's how I feel. Either way is fine, but a girl would be fun. For a boy, we have everything we'd possibly need. But a girl...we'd be starting from scratch in the clothing department...either that or she'd be dressed like a tomboy from day 1.

I have twin boys and a girl. Last time I SO wanted a girl, I was practically shrieking with joy when we found out it was a girl (I said to the u/s tech, "Really? Really really? Really really really????")

I think Dh would like a boy, but between us MDC moms, I don't think my dh can "produce" boys because he has a job where he's around a lot of chemicals.

I would like another girl. Then we'd have 2 and 2. And someday we could have a tie-breaker...

I can't wait to find out. It's the one non-crunchy thing I do, I always get a gender u/s.

We have 2 boys and as much as I would love a girl, I'm not going to hold my breath.

I have one niece and she was the first girl born in DH's family in 60 years. All the other grandkids were boys, my DH is one of 3 boys, his Dad is one of 13 kids and one of them was a girl. All DH's cousins are boys too.

So in the last 60 years there have been over 30 children born and only 1 girl!

We have a boy and I would love another boy. But either would be great, I think I would be scared to death to have a girl...okay, I am scared to death to have a girl. My mom and I had/have a very strained relationship--I'm afraid I won't know how to connect with her. So I guess I'd really like a boy and I say either way would be great just to prepare myself....wow thanks for that little counseling session

Also, I've had a gut feeling every since I thought I was pregnant, no BFP's and a few days after conception, that i was having twins. I guess we'll see...

We don't plan on finding out the gender. (unless it's twins then we probably would) Has anyone had an u/s and been told a different gender than the baby actually was?

You know, I knew DS was a boy (just a feeling, we didn't find out) but I kept imagining having a girl -- I have only sisters, they have three girls and only one boy between them (and he was the first boy on my dad's side for 30 years), so I just felt I knew nothing about boys and could only imagine having a girl. Along came DS, and I absolutely adore him of course, and now I can't imagine having a girl!

I have always suspected I'd have two boys, but now I'm not so sure. And I am a little scared about raising a girl now, not even sure I can verbalize why....

i have a boy so far, and boys run in DH's family...part of me wants another boy just to tick of MIL...lol i'm in the "another boy would be fine, but a girl would be fun!" camp...lol of course we'll be happy either way

At least the pressure is off me somewhat -- when we announced we were pg with DS, the first thing MIL and SIL said was "it better be a girl!" Uh, sure, I'll work on that. I HATE when people say that, because as much as they love DS now, I know they wanted a girl. Why say that kind of stuff? Apparently, SIL wore pink the whole day I was in labour, wanting it to be a girl -- and thought it was funny to tell me this afterwards.

Anyway, SIL is now TTC (we know this thanks to talkative MIL, not sure SIL knows we know!) and the other day DH's grandma went on and on about how she better have a girl. Really people, do you think parents get a say in this, and that they are to blame if they don't produce the correct gender??? And besides, I hate that DS isn't good enough or something because they can't buy him frilly pink clothes. He is the most amazing boy, I wouldn't trade him for anything, and I don't think they would either.

But the point is, now I am free to have another boy I guess, it is up to SIL to produce the family pet -- I mean, girl. And maybe she'll now understand how I feel having to listen to that carp

Sorry for the vent, it is just a pet peeve I have, people telling you what gender child you "better have"...

Andrea, my MIL said the exact thing to me! "it better be a girl!" argh! fortunately we already knew we were having a boy and i promptly shot her down! the disappointment on her face...ugh, i feel so sorry for DS

I am glad we don't have that part of the announcement on video tape, where the ILs say it better be a girl, I think I'd delete it so DS would never see it!

We are sooo happy to have our girl, that another would be great. But sometimes I really want a boy to have the experience of being a mom to one of each. So either way we'd be thrilled!

Oh yeah...and I can't wait to find out either!!! Hoping for a dream or something before that u/s!!

We have two boys, and DH's family is another with NO girls. Not sure the exact statistics, though - don't think I can match the previous posters numbers! But his family is also SMALL - he's an only and he has ONE cousin (male, of course) in his dad's side of the family. So they didn't exactly play the odds much! His dad is one of 3 boys, but I'm pretty sure that Grandaddy had a sister. Not 100% sure, though.

Anyhow, MOST people are thrilled and excited that we might get our girl (I was convinced my 2nd DS was a girl!). But of course my MIL's reaction (though she was very positive about another baby which was a HUGE relief!) was that she would NOT be putting anything on it being a girl! My FIL (and they're not even married anymore) had a similar reaction. Ugh. I hate that.

I have a good friend who is due anytime with her third, as well. So far, we're opposites - she has 2 girls, I have 2 boys. I canNOT wait to find out if she's really having a boy as we think she is. Then I'll have a girl and we'll marry off our 3 pairs of children in about 20-25 years. (Though my friend, who uses the same midwife I do, keeps telling me that our MW says it's unlikely to break the pattern on the third. Sigh.)
