anyone made the fermented bean paste from NT?

I was thinking about trying this...has anyone tried it? What does it taste like? I'd use pinto beans and I'm hoping for something along the lines of refried beans.

I have and liked it, but couldn't use it all up. It would make a good dip, but I'm not sure what else to use it for. It was pretty good. Tangier than refried, but similar.

I like making this in the summer, along with the fermented salsa recipe. All you need is meat and tortillas, and you have a meal.
