so...how many of you have used cloth for pp bleeding? what types of pads did you use and how many do you need? i want to/have to do cloth this time around and i have no idea what to get/make. i've made 6 pads so far, fleece top and bottom with an old pf and some flannel in between i've never used cloth before aside from the panty liners i've been using throughout pregnancy. when we went home on vacation over christmas, i got some "sposie" liners and broke out in a rash they were even the plain unscented ones. so, no more sposies for me apparently. help me out mamas!

Over the years I have become sensitive to disposables too. I used disposables last birth for the first couples days when the bleeding was the heaviest and then switched to cloth. I've been using cloth for my cycles for the last 4 1/2 years and love it. I also sometimes use the Diva cup (not a choice pp though). I have had good success with pads from this site http://www.rhythmandbluespads.com/ and have added to my collection from www.lunapads.com I recently bought one of their "heavy flow" kits as it's supposed to be good for PP bleeding. I look forward to seeing how well they work.

We use cloth diapers too so I'll be doing a lot of laundry pp anyway...I would say I have 6 pads for heavy flow and maybe another 6 for regular flow days.

Good luck.

I've got Glad Rags, I used them for periods between pregnancies and they are 100% cotton flannel, SO soft and comfy! I don't know how well they will hold up to heavy PP bleeding but they will work well for the lighter stuff. I've got a bunch of sposie pads from the last time and picked up some NatraCare brand maternity pads for this time. I don't have reactions to sposie pads, but I do think the cloth ones are SO much more comfortable!

I've got Ama'z Padz and I love them. You can find her store on Hyena Cart.

I use Glad Rags for regular menustration. I have the really large overnight ones that I am going to use post partum. You have the base pad and then you can add two inserts to make it thicker. That is how I have them (with the two inserts) ready to go. I figured for the first day or at least first hours I will just sit on a couple old towels. Also, I have some of DH's old boxers that are a style he doesn't like. They are those white cotton brief boxers (I think that is what they are called, I'm no expert on men's undies). Anyhow, I may fold some of them up and stick them in my panties. After that though, I'm gonna use those GladRags. I hope they work. My mom keeps telling me to get disposies, but forget that...I think they are uncomfortable when I'm on the rag. I can't imagine what they'd feel like after I just shot a baby out.

Poor DH, he always hates my soak bucket for my Glad Rags when I'm on the rag. He really hates it when I leave it where he has to see it. Now, he gets the honor of washing them for the first week or two post partum. I already typed him a sheet that tells him how to wash Glad Rags, cloth diapers, and regular laundry. Not that he's never done laundry...he just doesn't understand why everything he washes seems to shrink
