I am so impressed!

Sara, just curious- what was the total time (days/weeks) that was needed for the cleaning, renovation, and decorating. Thanks .

As soon as I finish looking at your pics, I'm going to go fill up the van with more stuff to donate.

So, when you start the new biz, will you be traveling to help people? Cause I could really use some help.

Oh I love the way that turned out. It is so cozy and inviting! I need your help too! Seriously, our place is 850sf and is nowhere near that darn cute. Perhaps interested in a long distance client?

INSPIRING! i have your blog on and keep looking at it thinking "can i do this to my apartment?". love it. great. wonderful! e can´t paint, and 90% of the furniture isn´t ours, but i sure as heck can do something to it...but what you did is amazing! congratulations!!!!

Wow! This is so inspiring to me. I live in a small duplex (not THAT small though) and every now and then I get these feelings of "needing" more space. I DO NOT need more space. I love how you decorated and made use of the space without making things looked cluttered. Great!!

I love the "star" theme throughout your house. What a wonderful way to connect the spaces. The painted stars that are hung by the heater are also really beautiful--the colors you chose compliment the background color of the wall.

take care,
Lisa
The star is from Hometown Evolution.

Hmmmm....not sure. I don't buy a lot on it...and I've just mostly searched for what I needed. There are so many great sellers!

We only use ours for reheating leftovers, the kids make micro popcorn in it and heat water for tea. I would love to not have one but the kids can use it safely so for now it stays. Also are you still using family cloth? I would totally understand if not considering the ton of work and moving you've been doing.

Your place is wonderful. Not only are you a great decorator apparently your dh is a wonderful painter and builder. Congrats to all three of you on your new home. How is Bella adjusting? Her play area is so sweet.
No microwave. Got rid of it for health and space reasons. We got rid of it over a year ago. Yes, reheat on the stove...sometimes in the oven. I used to have a toaster oven that I would re-heat in. We make popcorn on the stove top and it's actually faster than a microwave...and healthier. Water for tea is in our electric teapot that boils water SUPER fast. Couldn't live without it.

Family cloth...we aren't using it right now. But I hate toilet paper, so we are working on getting a system going.

Bella is very flexible and adapts quickly. She's having a great time

It took about a month to renovate ...about 60 hours of work. Cleaning...4 hours. Decorating...one or two days.

Yes! Actually...depending on where you live, I might be able to help. We're taking a cross country trip this summer to the east coast.

I'm thinking of doing consulting...I'm sure we could figure something out PM me if you're serious.

Even without painting, there is much you can do to create an inviting home...re-covering furniture with thrifted throws, tapestries, hanging lights for atmosphere, etc. You can do it!

Sara-Do your parents own part of Cold Stone Creamery?? I am sure I just saw a picture of your dad on their website showing two girls how to mix up the ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sara, I just wanted to say 'thanks for all the pictures' - what an thought-provoking set. I'm also a Christian mama trying to get rid of the clutter in my life, emotional and physical baggage. Can I steal some of your sunny decorating ideas for my own place? Oh pretty please?
So beautiful, organized and cozy! Your paint colors are making me hungry...

You know, the pictures sort of make it look BIGGER than your last place, which was also so beautiful, organized and cozy.

You are so amazing, Sara! I have to agree that your attitude is inspiring.

I love the new place. It is so warm and inviting. I would love to sit in your breakfast nook and have a cup of tea.

I am further encouraged to keep on in my journey to simplify and declutter.

Blessings!

Your new home is so beautiful! I love to see the way you decorate, b/c I always get soooo many ideas! Your place looks so homey and comfortable. I love Bella's closet.

Also, I know I already said this on your blog, but your latest entry was very inspiring to me and it was something that I really needed to read right then. Thanks for reminding me what it's really all about!

I don't think it's my dad on the website, but he is an Area Developer for Cold Stone. Up until December, Matt and I worked for them as well (for the past 3 years). Matt was a regional manager and I was my dad's personal assistant, marketing, HR, etc.

No specific inspiration...I just find things I love and incorporate them. If you're looking for specific things to "look" at...I love Cottage Living and Country Home.
