The OB I went to with my first son asked if I was BFing toward the end of my pregnancy. They sold my name to a ton of companies and gave me a sabatage bag. They also told me I would get a really nice diaper bag when I left the hospital (I was excited, after all I loved free stuff). The bag ended up be rather tacky looking and made of some sort of cheap plastic, though I sadly saw a LOT of them around town once I knew what they looked like. Thankfully I had no intentions of using formula and was rather adament about DS not getting any artifical nipples.
With DS#2 I went to a freestanding birth center. At my first visit they told me that they don't do formula, they don't give away free samples and they encourage all of their patients to BF. I will not being going to any OBs in the future unless there is an actual medical need.
