Good news from Holistic Dentist!

Well am so excited I had to post an update. We went to see Dr. Jessica Saepoff in Issaquah, WA (which I should have done 6 months ago and not listened to DH saying it was too far!) and it went great. DD was wonderful (they even said she was awesome) and let them do a comprehensive exam and began work on the worst 2 cavities, which then need final fillings next week. She thinks she can do all the work and without and sedation, and they were so nice and kind, and DD was so co-operative, especially for a just 3 year old. I am sure we will have good visits and not so good ones but the great news is that she wanted to ask what we were doing because the decay was arrested and no new decay was occurring, which was so good to hear. They sell Spry products and got the gel and 'candies' as the only toothpaste they had was mint. I am so relieved and glad to have a dentist for me when I need it too!

I have been doing a multi-vitamin, brushing 2-3 x a day with Xylitol toothpaste, and gave the homeopathic remedy Calc Phos which I honestly think must have done something dramatic, for those interested. I need to start Cod Liver Oil if anyone has any ideas, she is hard to get to take supplements. I have been taking Fish Oil while nursing though which I am sure is helping.

I would but she did not like smoothies last time I tried. I don't know why! I actually am going to get a new blender though since we moved and maybe I can try some different recipes that she might like now she is older? Its a good idea thanks though and will definitely try her again!

Please let me know where you get the homeopathic cal phosp that you use. And how do you give it to your child? Do you know how it compares to MI paste? Thanks

I'm not the OP, but homeopathic Calc Phosp is a homeopathic little sugar tablet that you can get from the Health Food Store or a Homeopathic Practitioner...you drop a few tablets on their tongue (if you can, underneath their tongue) and give at least 5 minutes time before and after for no food or drink.
It isn't really comparable to the MI paste in how you use it. The MI paste is a tooth mousse that looks just like toothpaste, that you wipe on your childs teeth after brushing them, and then no food and drink for 3 minutes after.
I think they would both work incredibly well together.
HTH and sorry if I butted in!

Thanks!! What she said!!

I used a higher potency of Calc Phos which was 200 C and gave her one dose (a few little pellets) and that lasts several weeks, there are several remedies for caries though but this is a good one to start off with. I think it would work well with the MI Paste (which I have not used yet) I have been doing Xylitol and since things seem to be working have added in Spry gel and Sparx 'candies' to help keep the decay at bay!

I'm new to this area of mdc...

Congrats, Destinye!

This is our story...

I took my almost-2-yr old to a ped dentist two weeks ago and was shocked to find out he has 4 cavities. Of course the only options presented were fillings with oral anesthesia or general anesthesia.

We have an appt at a holistic dentist on March 4, and I've also since had a consult with my ND. We're on calc phos tissue salts (6X) upon rising, and calc fluor tissue salts (6X) at bedtime. We've been on CLO for ages already (and he doens't eat sweets, or drink juice, etc...so I was sooo saddened to find out he had cavities!). We've ramped up our brushing routines - we now use an electric toothbrush (following the advice from a different thread), since he HATED having his teeth brushed, and now he'll tolerate it and we feel we're doing a better cleaning job. We use a himalayan salt solution.

Is it called Calc Phos? I found this http://www.homeopathyworks.com/product.php?xProd=11983
Is that pretty much the same thing? Thanks

I think so...mine are from Hylands. http://www.hylands.com/cellsalts/

I'm not entirely clear on the difference between the little round pellets we've taken/he's taken, and these cell salts (they are larger and flat and round).

The best thing is to disolve the remedies in a small cup of water, stirr or shake it 10 times before giving a teaspoon. Works best this way as it is a homeopathic remedy, homeopathy is ENERGY medicine, thus this energy need to be activated by the shaking (in latin its called "succussion") The water acts like a vehicle to disperse the remedy, all the water becomes that remedy.
More on homeopathy www.homeopathic.org(directory of homeopaths in each state, articles, journals)
www.homeopathic.com(read "Intro into homeopathy")
Best if a household kit can be purchased with a selective few homeopathic emergency remedies and a easy to follow book on how to use homeopathic remedies. The first link that was posted to Washington homeopathic products inc. is the best place to find complete kits in my oppinion. www.homeopathyworks.com

Its great to see so many of you using homeopathics for your children.Different companies make different sized pills, its not the bigger the pill the better.Professional classical homeopaths use the smallest size"size of a poppyseed pill" #10 globule.
