the LARGERer KAL - Page 2

Yeah, I'm hoping the try-on part can start before the bust. How's your progress coming, Alaska? Billie, black might look pretty good with that darker yarn you have .

From the pics I've seen online, the trying on can definitely start before the you're too far into the bust.

Hmm... I might be up for this.

Hmm... maybe I'll go back and take a look at that yarn, again. Thanks!

I should have everything, and be ready to go, by Wednesday.

I may be in... but I want to do Sahara more than SKB.

Sounds good to me!

I need to order yarn but I like both SKB and Sahara, tho I think I'd prefer Sahara for a winter sweater and do SKB for summer. Andean silk is nice and drapey but not sure how well it would hold up in a top like this. What yarns is everyone going with?
oh no! i've been trying to resist the allure of skb, in favor of doing some things for me kids. no, no...ok. let me look through my stash and see if i can find something to use, lol.

what all yarns have y'all seen this in that look good other than the ones mentioned? i wish i had time to get some henry's attic yarn and dye my own for this, but i'm just in the process of setting up my account so i don't guess i'll have time if y'all are starting already.

If you do a search for simple knitted bodice KAL, you'll see lots of pics...there was one on craftster.org, sexy knitters club did one, and there was another out in blogland....

alright I am reading the KAl for SKB over at craftster, the thread is HUGE! but very helpful and I should get some definite yarn choices that way.

it's like 68 pages, isn't it?

I haven't picked it up since I did the first 10 rows....so I think we'll all be starting around the same time.
66 pages but I'm at "work" so had the time to waste.

I think I may go ahead and go with a KP yarn, shine, andean silk or something similar. Someone on craftster did hers in an elann cotton that looked much nicer than many of the silk skb's so I am thinking a cotton blend would be great for a short sleeve summer top. I doubted the andean silk but it does have a nice shine and drape, and the blurriness may be minimized after a good wash and block.

Still waffling, may have to pass and stick to the pile of men's sweaters I've promised dh (which I will of course steal to wear with jeans). Let's see if I loose the inches around the waist I want to, then I'll make myself this sweater in something outrageously yummy as a reward to myself.

But I will stick around to see how everyone's come along.

Aww do it Aimee!! You know you want to
oooh, I think i'd like to join you guys! I haven't bought the pattern yet though, how many skeins of yarn does it call for?
I've also been plodding through the craftster thread, I'm on page 45! Anyway, I found a good resource for bust short-rows with this pattern if anyone else needs to do this: http://extravayarnza.typepad.com/ext...le_of_new.html

Of course you will have to modify the number of short-rows depending on how much boobage you have.
Alright.. you ladies have me wanting to do this. Which are we doing again?

: I was on a yarn fast too! (aka - not allowed to buy anymore yarn!!)

Soo, what's the cheapest yarn that will look good on me? There's a pic of me in my siggy. Hmmm..... must.. not.. buy.. other... yarns!!

simple knitted bodice from stitch diva, mamakerry.
Some of the yarn suggestions on the previous page looked like good options to me.... I'm using elsebeth lavold's silky tweed.

So what's everyone's status?

The last of my supplies should be here today (according to UPS tracking) and I will be able to cast on this evening.
