My ds1 didn't really start drawing, anything other than scribbles, until about age 4.75. He had ZERO interest in drawing/writing and art in general.
The last two months, he has shown a tremendous interest in drawing and writing and can do very well. His penmanship is honestly astounding, imo. I'd say he spends at least 1/4 or more of his play time with his notebook and his pens and crayons.
