How to introduce dairy??

My dd had a suspected dairy allergy at 2 mos old. I stopped dairy because she had bloody sools. It seemed to help except for when she was 6 mos old she had a couple more bloody stools even though i was very strict about not eating any dairy. It went away on its own. Maybe it was a little tear in her bum? So i have been dairy free for the last 8 mos, just in case it was truly a dairy problem. Nursing her was more important then eating dairy but its been so hard. i really miss my dairy. ( of course, the fact that my mil said i would never make it and should wean her at 2 mos really helped me stick to the diet) So i decided to give her a "dairy challenge". I have eated a few foods with whey in it. its been 4 days and she does not seem to have had a problem yet. So my question is where do i go from here. I don't want to go to fast with her, or me. Do i eat a little cheese next? or milk? how much? how long untli i can say she's ok with dairy?
TIA

Goat cheese and goat milk yogurt are supposed to be easier to digest than dairy from cows. And many people with a dairy allergy can sucessfully digest goat's milk. So maybe you should start there (?) Good luck.

90% of dairy allergics can't tolerate goat's. If it's just a digestion issue, goat's is a little better, nothing significant, though.

If I were you, I'd wait just a couple more months. THe longer you wait, the better. Can you do it just till she's 12 mos?

Then yes, I would try cheese or yogurt first, just a little.

Most people w/ the allergy are allergic to the casein not the whey, so trying whey and passing could be b/c she's not allergic to the whey part.

And keep in mind that just because she no longer reacts when you eat it doesn't mean she's no longer allergic. Your gut may have healed during this time and the proteins no longer pass freely into your milk. I would go see an allergic and have her tested before giving her any dairy directly.

Se the "Is he really THAT allergic?" thread for more info on that.
