AutumnMama, if you have yeast problems that indeed could be the factor.

Bifidobacterium for him would be the best bet, see if his poop changes on that.

Getting rid of yeast for you might be a long journey. Our gut flora weighs 3lbs, takes a lot to change it. Personally my bf'ing thrush stopped with raw milk homemade kefir which has beneifical yeasts as well as lactobacillus, but I also had more serious digestive problems that needed even more: special diet, digestive enzymes. Did you have antibx?

You might look into Candex or other enzyme for yeast, look at Healing the Gut Tribe sticky for more info on that. Remembering if you "kill" something off, your good flora has to be replaced into order to take the place of what you just killed off. That is why I'm skeptical about efficacy of things like Gentian Violet (which seems pretty toxic to me) and Nystatin (more natural actually).... without diet changes and massive amounts of probiotics.

I have another poop question.
Dd's (9 mos) poops have been less mucousy lately, more like French's mustard (so, not seedy or curdly) most of the time. Now all of a sudden (the past two days) it is also clay like. And she seems to be in pain when she has a bm - strains, grunts, cries. The day before yesterday she didn't have a bm. Yesterday she had three dirty diapers! Today she had two. Each one seemed like it was the same amount of poop that she would normally have, but less wet, quite sticky. Yesterday it smelled like real poop, today like poop and a bit more like yogurt. There are a few things that might have influenced it. First I am eating no sugar (but still fruit and a serving of millet in the mornings). Then, she is eating more solids. With this I mean that she actually eats about one bite at a meal, literally, so I didn't think it would have made a difference. Also, it is veggies!????? And she still nurses just as much as always and even wants sips of water when I drink water. I gave her some probiotics (not bifidus infantis, maltodextrin filler no good and I have to order new ones) the past few days (I thought it is better than nothing) and she also had a few bites of my coconut yogurt. Oh, and she has been sucking oil (hemp and coconut mix) out of her bottle for her skin. And she also took a bite of aloe leaf while dh was putting some on her skin
So, was it any of these, or just coincidence? Or is it just the solids? She seems to be really in pain, how do I help her?

Thanks Jane

I actually was doing raw milk when I had occasion to use it, but can't anymore because DS gets ultra stinky gas when I am on dairy.

I was doing probiotics but just realized that they're not dairy free

I haven't had any antibiotics since I was pg with DD, but I seem to be somewhat prone to yeast overgrowth when pg/nursing.
