Ovulation Microscope

Thread Starter
hello everyone! i was recording my cycles for about 6 mo. i had 30 day cycles with one cylce that was more like 40 days. but my microscope was showing i was ovulating 2-3 month. are there other things that would show ferning? also this was while i was breasfeeding and my cycle was returning when my dd was about 7 mo old. is it possible some women ovulate more often?

i had sex once with my dh and became pregnant. literally. and we were being careful. so much for paying attention to my cycle.

the microscopes claim to be 99% accurate, is this true, or are there other things i need to be aware of - for the next time i start tracking my cycle which wont be for at least a year .

thanks.

Were you testing your saliva or cervical mucous?

I wonder if its possible to show ferning when you're body is gearing up to ovulate but hasn't quite got the whole cycle together yet. As in, the feedback between your brain and ovaries. That could cause several days of fertile-type mucous, or short patches of it here and there.

I have a friend who was using one of those microscopes and charting her temps when she got pregnant back in Nov. 98. I was at her house for a party and she showed me her chart- all down temps, had sex, up temp. Just ONE- up temp. But I knew- she was so fertile.... and sure enough, two weeks later, she IMed me with a "+". Of course, I think she was trying to avoid pregnancy. You really have to be practiced at fertility awareness to use it for avoiding. I wouldn't trust myself to use it for avoiding simply because I want sex the most when I'm ovulating!

Have a happy and healthy 9 months!
