Kalten Lucas was born naturally (no induction yay!) at 4am sharp yesterday (Feb 19) after 22 hours of labor.
He was 7 pounds 9 ounces and 19 inches long.
I'm in the middle of writing the story in my "letters to Kalten" book, so I will post that later.
He sleeps a lot and never wants to wake up to nurse, but when he does, he is a lamprey, I swear. Perfectly latched but suction like an industrial vacuum.

It was quite emotional when my mom held him for the first time. She is lucky to be alive after her heart attack a week ago and we both had a little cry.

Kalten is a character in books by David Eddings that Paul and I both like.
It also means something like "cold" in German.

Our follow-up appointment was today (at the same time his final ultrasound was supposed to be before they induced ). He's back up to birth weight and the nurses said he looks great. We were worried about jaundice but the numbers are okay and he's had several bilirubin diapers just recently.
