TMI: I NEED a bidet....Anyone else?

Okay, this is totally TMI, but I have reached the point in my pregnancy where I can hardly wipe my bum properly. I ALWAYS drip on my hands and it takes me about ten wipes to get the other end clean. I just want to take a shower everytime after I use the potty. And when I am wiping I have to contort into positions that make it impossible to breath, so when I come out of the bathroom I am breathing like I've just run a marathon. I have tried wet wipes, but the only thing that really seems to get me clean is running water.

Blarg.

Yup!

I'm getting to that point as well!
There is no way to attack the situation either! I've tried leaning from one side to the other, going in front, going behind....it's a workout in itself!

Yeah, me too. This is one of those side effects no one tells you about. I'm taking two or three baths/showers a day just to keep my Situation under control down there. My partner swears it's just psychological but I feel UnClean all the time, because wiping on either end is an exercise in futility. What makes it worse is that somehow the baby is situated in such a way that I feel like I have to poop ALL the time, every time I pee.
I guess it's all just prep for the Big Push coming all of our way soon! Then we'll be wishing our biggest problem was trouble wiping.

And I thought this was going to be about hemorroids. Am I the only one? That's why I need a bidet. I can reach fine to wipe. . I just can't possibly wipe enough. . well without lots of bleeding that is.

They do make these bidet sprayer things. You attach them to the water pipes at the bottom of the toilet and then there's this little hand held nozzle thing with an on/off button. They are aka diaper sprayers, so you could definitely get use out of one if you were planning to CD.

Squirt bottle

Someone suggested for postpartum (but would work for this) getting a squirt bottle, like one you'd put dishwashing liquid in or a soap of kinds. Put water in that and spray with it.

Yes, I still have my 2 peri bottles from the birth of my DD that get a LOT of use.

I'm using the little witch hazel pads as "wet wipes." If I poop in any potty other than the one with the wipes, I have to go straight there to clean up again. Or else plan my shower around my poop. I'm SO glad I'm not alone in this - I've been worries I'm just a freak! The witch hazel pads are much "cleaner" than baby wipes - no perfume, soap, or moisturizers - they are astringent, so the seem to really clean without leaving residue.

With DD, I continued to have this problem post-partum until my peri was more healed - the peri bottle or sitz bath were my salvations! SIL calls it IBS or DBS (itchy butt syndrome or dirty butt syndrome, depending on your problem)

I have always used this. I wash (with soap) and dry after every bathroom use, #1 or #2. Its a habit my Mom got me into from as soon as I started using toilets. you can get the ones made for diaper rinsing or get one from the hardware store.
Right now I just go into the shower after #2, I don't even bother trying to wipe over the toilet.

I'm not having this problem, miraculously. However I do have the old 'rhoids problem and I use an enema bottle filled with witch hazel and squirt that over my bottom for my hemorrhoids. I can wipe OK, but I can't reach back there well enough to use my tucks pads or cotton with witch hazel so the bottle works well. I guess a peri bottle would work too, but I don't know what that is.

Alright, so I've got a peri bottle (and I'm going to start using it to clean myself, I actually hadn't thought of this) and actually I'd love to get one of those sprayer things. But, be honest, isn't the cold of the sprayer a little, well, shocking? I am a person who takes REALLY hot showers and I cannot stand being cold. I guess at this point it is be cold for a minute or dirty until I can squeeze the time out for a shower.....I pick cold, I think!

We hooked our minisprayer up to the sink & ran it to the toilet. So we get warm water. I can wash the boys' hair in the tub with it, & use it for myself on the toilet.

I thought I was the only one with this issue. I'm actually in the Feb. DDC (due today), but I had to come in here for this one. It takes me forever to use the toilet, and seeing as how I go all the time, it's rather irritating. I can't wait to be able to reach everything again!

Is this a problem just after the kid drops or something? Or am I just lucky? (Or am I just so bodaciously bountiful to begin with I don't notice any change? )
