seaming help

I am making a Ribby Cardi and started seaming the sides last night. I hated how they looked so I undid the seaming.
I am trying to get the edges seamed together so that the transition between back and side ribbing is not noticeable. Right now I am creating an obvious seam with a portion of ribbing that look stretched out.

Has anyone else made this sweater? Any ideas?

there is a great explanation of this in dominknitrix ;-)

the way i learned, however, was to knit two samples in different colors and then play with which way seamed it best in a third color (if that makes any sense). i learned a lot more by experimenting this way, and i'm not always good with directions from a book. but i found dominknitrix to be very helpful for this and lots of other issues.

That is a good idea. I finally picked it up again and came up with something I liked.
