She was born yesterday, February 20th at 1:19 pm. I had contractions throughout the night before, headed to the birth center and was about 3 cm, decided to go back home since I live a block away. Paced around my house for a few hours and headed back in at 12:15, was 5 cm at that point. Decided to get in the birthing tub but the heartrate dropped way down so I had to get back out. At this point I was already starting to push. My midwife checked me and I was complete, I pushed a few times and out she came. I was at the birth center for a total of 48 minutes before she was born. The reason her heartrate was down was because I went through transition so quickly!
She started nursing immediately and has been nursing great ever since. We came home 4 hours after she was born and have been resting
I am so in love with this new little girl in my life.
Oh, she weighed in at 6 pounds 11.5 ounces and is 19 and 3/4 inches long. She was born 3 days past her "due" date.
