Just heard about the earthquake out your way. Checking in to make sure you and yours are all ok. (I have no idea what the geography of Turkey is like, you guys might not actually be anywhere near all this.)

Sending you lots of love and light!

Hoping Kate is okay. I know the earthquake off the coast of asia a few months ago knocked out internet for over a week in Shanghai, and it wasn't reliable for a month. So hoping that's the only reason she hasn't posted....

No internet for a week:
I hope she is alright. I couldn't find anything about the earthquake though, where was it?

Okay, she said she is in Instanbul, according to the news article I read, the earthquake was in Elazig, which is in 7 C on this map, and you can see where Istanbul is. So it was pretty far away from her. Not saying that it didn't affect her area, but she, I would think was away from immediate danger. Maybe she has gone into labor?

Thanks for the info, Wild Flowers. My geography skills are seriously lacking.

I was a little worried something might have sent her into labor as well... I'll just keep thinking happy thoughts.

: There was an earthquake? Seriously, I didn't know anything about it.

Thanks for thinking of me, ladies! The last major earthquake to hit Istanbul in 1999 (I think) was absolutely devastating. Fortunately, our house is in one of the safest zones, built on a granite shelf. DH thinks of everything! I may be isolated, but my house isn't terribly likely to come crashing down!

No labor yet for me, but I've been trying to lower my internet-consumption time. I realized that I'm spending about 10 hours a day online--not good for me, I think. I've been cooking lots, reading, crocheting, playing with baby things, and today I'm going to the pazar with a friend to hunt up bargains. DH predicted that yesterday would be baby's birthday, but he's still happy to be swimming. He is a bouncy droppper, he'll drop into the pelvis for a little while, but then bounces back up after a bit.

Trust me, if I go into labor, I will post something immediately--earthquakes notwithstanding!

(Kewl map, BTW!)

Good to know everything is alright You have to know it was hard to find a map with Elazig AND Istanbul on it. I could find with either, but I didn't realize Turkey was so big and that is why I couldn't find it on one...

LOL Kate, you must be pregnant!

Glad you're okay!

Yup, quite pregnant. LOL

No TV, don't read the newspapers, don't listen to radio (much), and it's all in Turkish so I don't understand it anyway. Usually DH tells me if anything important happens, otherwise I'm clueless.

Remember the Paris riots in 2005? He asked me a few days after they started what I thought about the whole ugly mess. I said, "There's riots in Paris?"
