I think if you ask any of the people who experienced some bumps... they will say now on the other side of those bumps, it was totally worth it.
but before you focus on a treasure map.. I think you might need to do a little inventory...ask yourself a question...
am I keeping myself 'small' out of fear?
and if the answer is yes.. ..then I would imagine if you did a build a treasure map and you did allow yourself to fully wish and want and desire and ultimately attract those things that you place on your map... yeah, if you are keeping yourself small, there probably will be bumps.
my girlfriend used to have an expression (which I believe she 'borrowed" from someone..) but it went like this... "if the climb doesn't kill me, the altitude will.." and what she meant was that when one reaches out and stretches and heads off for some lofty place..well, it can take work... and then when you get there.. you have to be able to live in thinner air.
For example.. I have worked my entire life in the entertainment business and have been around a lot, I mean a lot of famous people in front of the camera and behind the camera. And they can not hang out in small thinking.. they can't get too bogged down in what others say... gossip, nonesense.. they have to remove themselves from it. And for godsakes.. look at OPrah. If you work for her you have to sign an nondisclosure agreement meaning you can NEVER write anything about your expeirence working on her show or with her ever or she'll sue you. That's how she does it... she needs to stay above the fray and she's got lawyers who help her... that's what really super high alttitude does..
now I use that as an example.. but now lets get down to earth with all the rest of us... if you want to upset a world.. get a nice new home.. get a new outfit.. lose weight, get a raise a work... watch out people's feathers get ruffled....
so, sure being small will keep from rustling feathers.. but I think it is at a cost.
So, I say again..are you keeping yourself small out of fear?
does it still work? if the answer is no.. then I say, get out of your way.. take a deep breath.. and build a fantastic treasure map. And I say to heck with the rest! I have rustled a lot of feathers.. and I'm so grateful for it all. I really do have a very nice life.. but I would not had I stayed small. And just to be clear this is not a post about money... this is about really having a fruitful abundant and fun life.
