So I took the babies back in today for a weight check and to check the bilirubin levels again, and James had gained a whopping 3 oz in one day. That's 5 oz in two days, which is unbelievable, and they didn't even bother checking the bili levels, it's so obvious he's fine. Rachel hadn't gained, but she hadn't lost either, and her bili levels were down a lot. James learned to latch correctly yesterday, so my engorgement is under control, and Rachel is trying as hard as she can. I've been using a supplemental nurser with her and pumping for her, because she just can't suck well enough to empty a breast yet. But she's getting there; we're gonna work on simultaneous feeding tonight, so that I can spend a little less time nursing and maybe get some sleep.
So all in all we're doing really well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
