Ok all you southerners who have or had gazebos-not the wood kind. We bought one last year from Target when we first bought our house because we have no shade at all in the back yard. It was $80 and did fine until the fall, when I noticed that the canopy was starting to dry rot and tear. Also there was like a mildew buildup. It hadn't occured to me to treat it with something to help the dryrot like you would with a tent. The frame also rusted already. So this year my dh finds one that's like $300+ and says he would get that one, but wouldn't the canopy dry rot? Is there a way to treat it? Has anyone this problem? We have a big back yard and spent almost everyday out last year. We're in Fl, and now with no where to sit, it's crappy going out there and an umbrella just doesn't work.
Also we used to have terminix but I'm just not keen on the whole pesticide deal, but with the roach issue here, what could work? We can't go outside for about 2-3 hours after he sprays and I always wonder if there's residue left. Is there a natural pesticide that might work? Our contract just ended so I need to find something very soon or my dh will be calling them up again for the year ahead. And I'm going to have my garden along the house-hello pesticide
