More space = less stuff

We lived in a studio apartment for 4 months, making it necessary to put about half of our belongings in storage (we didn't own *that* much to begin with. Over the last month we moved the contents of the studio and the storage unit into the new apartment, as well as acquired a bunch of items for the new baby that should be here by now Even though we moved to a bigger place, I have been decluttering like mad. I found that since I lived without the items in storage for 4 months with no problems, most of them could be tossed, donated etc. Next time I am unsure about throwing something away, I think I'll put it out of reach for a while and see if I really miss it. I probably won't.

While we didn't move to a bigger space, rather a smaller one, we stayed in temporary housing for 6 months with all our stuff in storage, and have been slowly pulling it out (we are lucky enough to be able to store it in my parents attic) - and yeah, not having seen it in a year makes it so much easier to part with!
