we're now ahead one month!
I can't believe it was this easy! We used to get it drafted from our account on the 1st of every month, but apparently there's a grace period until the 14th of the month. Since our employer just changed the date on which we get paid from the end of the month to the 5th of every month, we were holding onto our payment from the 5th of, say, January, until Feb. 1st. But now, we'll get paid on the 5th and then pay our mortgage on the 8th of the month (our new draft date) so just this once, we have a surplus! That's because we were holding onto February's paycheck to pay for the March mortgage payment, but we won't "need" that money since we'll now use March's paycheck to pay March's bill.
Boy, does that sound complicated!
: Still, it was very easy to do, and just like that, we have a whole mortgage payment in savings. Awesome!!!!
You can bet I won't be telling my spendy DH, though, or he'd find a use for that money very quickly.....
