Just noticed you snagged a Scottsman as well . We're visiting/seeing hubby's parents for the first time next week. He hasn't mentioned the EC thing yet, but I'm curious to find out if his parents' parents did something like EC.

P.s. What part of Scotland? Hubby's from Brechin (south of Aberdeen), and yes, I can barely understand his parents(!)

Just wanted to pitch in here on this topic. We've done a few in law visits with ds ECing. My in laws were the type that were highly skeptical of breastfeeding, so I knew EC would rock their parenting world and worried about that a lot. My dh's wise advice was to downplay it-or don't ask don't tell! I did use diaper back up 95% of the time, unless I was holding ds. When I had to take him to the potty I was discreet as possible about it. And fortunately they never noticed or asked, although my mil did ask a few times why I didn't have his onsie shirts snapped.
I figure they will find out soon, as ds is 15 months and talking. Someday soon he'll say 'mama, potty' and they will be amazed!

Fife & Dundee. My father is Welsh, so I have no problem with UK accents.

Cool - Bill went to university at Dundee. All I remember from visiting is that there's a great kebob place near the university...

We met with Bill's parents for the first time, staying at Bill's mum's half-brother's in Majorca. We EC'd while there, but didn't make a big deal of it. Bill tried to talk about it with his parents, but all it elicited was a story about how Bill was toilet trained early, then got sick and they had to start all over again. Go figure. (They are very adept at hearing only what they expect to hear - they've only just acknowledged that I didn't change my name, and we've been married for 5 years.)
