I'm posting this quickly because I'm solo tonight, cooking dinner, and entertaining a toddler and nine month old (nothing like multi-tasking). Does anyone have any insight on diaper rash and possible grain allergy (rice specifically)? My nine month DD is has been reluctently starting solids and after a couple of days of homemade rice cereal and pureed green beans, she has the most aweful, flaring red diaper rash. Now, I also cloth diaper so maybe that is suspect as well (diapers not rinsed well enough, although I run two cycles with extra rinses?). Any thoughts? Sorry so brief, just looking for a possible link.

Oh, it's quite possible that rice is bothering her. Diaper rashes are often a symptom of an allergy. Can you decribe the rash better? Is it around anus?

Yes rice was bad news for my DS, grains shouldn't be first foods for babes. They do not have the enzyme load yet to digest them fully.
