Yard Sale or Craigslist?

Which one do you think would result in more money for larger items (stroller, dining rooms chairs, etc)? I think CL would be more painful, but might result in more money per item.

Craigslist. People go yardsaling often with a set amount of $$ to spend. With CL, they can find your item on a search and be willing to spend more.

Definitely craigslist. You have a very limited customer base with a yard sale, craigslist is so much larger.

Craigslist will net more $, but it's also more work.

One thing I do is have a yard sale and list my pricery items on CL a few days/ up to a week ahead of time. Make pick up at the yard sale during that time, saves you time and if you have a no show you might be able to sell it during the rest of your sale.

CL for more money. Yard sale if you just want to off-load stuff. BUT, it also depends on where you live and what kind of traffic you would get. We've had great luck with yard sales.

Craigslist! It's more work, but around here at the yard sales you're lucky to get anything for an item. When I go to a yard sale, I go to negotiate the price. It's half the fun! When I'm on CL, I'm more willing to spend the asking price.

I paid $60 for the double stroller I wanted from Craigslist ($130 new). I never would have taken that much money with me to a yard sale.

our plan with some larger items is (as a pp said) to craigslist then a week before, especially over the weekend before, with the end date being the yard sale, so it would be nice to make more money, but either way they are out of my house.
