OMG girls i cant belive its happened, I really cant. I litterally have to go hold him in my arms sometimes just for the realization that he is actually here at home with us. He is such a good baby and he seems so quiet he barely cries unless he really needs something.
He was born Thursday the 22nd at 12:43 in the afternoon. I started getting contractions the night before late and into the early morning. I swear it felt like i was in labor forever but everyone tells me 12 hours of labor is pretty good for your first baby. We stayed at home until the contractions were about 4 min apart since the birth center is only 20 min away from our home. When i got there around 9:30 i was dilated to 7 cm. I thought i would have been more by then but i was ok with it. We spent a lot of time in the tub. It was the greatest thing in the world for pain. I spent a lot of time visualizing things too to help me which i never would have thought of doing without the advice from my midwife. At about 11:30 i was 10 cm and fully effaced and was told i could start pushing. I could not believe the pressure i felt. After the first few times pushing my midwife looked very concerned as she was checking his heart beat. It had dipped down into almost 60bpm which is very very low for a fetal heart beat and should have been around 110 to 120. So she decided i should be transfered to the hospital for the rest of the delivery which i wasn't too happy about but whatever it took to keep him safe. We got to the hospital sometime after 12:00. With everything on my mind i wasn't watching the clock DH is next to me telling me what to write here since it was a big blur. I pushed for about 15 min and he was out. I was so happy that i was able to escape the C-section they were about to prep me for. He weighed 6lbs 5.5 oz and was 18 inches long. I wasn't happy that they took him out of the room for the testing but DH was with him the whole time so that made me feel a lot better about it. His apgars were good 7 the first time and 9 the second. He is perfectly fine he just got a little stressed out during labor. They said he looked a little jaundice but nothing worth stressing over. He latched on perfectly and is a breastfeeding-aholic now im just waiting for milk to come in the lactation nurse said it could be 3 days till it happens. So now we are just at home enjoying him. He is keeping me busy tho nursing every 2 hours is draining me bad and im really worried that my milk supply wont come in and he isn't getting enough out of the colostrum.
Well i guess thats it for now, I feel like i have so much to get done around here and my mom is coming to help clean a bit while i take it as easy as i can. Ryan has to go back to work today at 12:00 so its just going to be me and Kris.
Oh and here are some pics for now to keep everyone happy lol didn't think i would leave w/o sharing did you?
