Where are these boonies of which you speak?

We're in southeastern CT and prices are really high here. Not as bad as what tomagotchi is describing, but still too high. The prices seem to be coming down, but still.. ouch! Decent 3 bed, 2 bath homes with 1/2-1 acre are around $250-300k at least.

I agree with the 20% downpayment. Then you can negotiate the interest charges.

Not always. I do believe they are on a downward trend for the next 10 or so years. Just a hunch.
