All I did was try to take a bath

I was/am hurting so badly tonight. I was itchy and my sciatica was really bad. I thought I would go soak in a warm tub of water and that would make everything better. Ha.ha.ha.

I put some oil in my water to help with the relaxation. I'm rubbing the water/oil all over, really rubbing it in. All of a sudden my legs started burning and my legs and belly turned beat red.

I hurried up and turned the COLD shower on and tried scrubbing the oil off with a loofah and body wash. I let the water run over me for at least 20 mins.

Now I am in bed, almost in tears, itching and burning.

And here I was wishing for some bath oil in the tub the other day -- I guess I should thank my lucky stars, huh.

Hope you feel better soon!

I had a reaction to Neutrogena's body oil during my last pregnancy. Weird because I used it all the time and never had a reaction until I was pregnant. I still haven't been brave enough to try it again...

Try Olive Oil. I use it in the tub and find it very helpful. The amount of time I spend in the tub has increased with each trimester as it typically gives me complete relief (but I'm uncomfortable as soon as I step out of the tub).

Aloe may help relieve some of your discomfort right now, if you can find some at a health food store that has no additives! That and baking soda baths are good for skin irritation/ itching.

I have had such sensitive pg skin that I have had to learn a whole new way to take care of my skin.

I am so sorry you had such a bad reaction!

I was using Aura Cacia Sweet Almond oil and a few drops of Sweet Orange essential oil. The reaction HAD to be from the sweet orange oil (which I've bathed with before) because I've been using the sweet almond during my entire pregnancy to massage with and soak in.

Oh Mama, hope you feel better soon! I hear ya! I like to add lavender Eo to my bath w/almond or apricot oil for the preggo. itches! I took a bath last week and bought some new lotion Desert Essence organic Lavender, well after a few mins. of puttting the lotion on I thought, whoa that kinda burns...I looked and holy mother it looked like I had a sunburn! I had a reaction to some ingr. in the lotion, I know it was not the Lave. EO as I 've been using that the entire preg. It was a reaction to one of the so called "natural preservatives"

Best of luck!
