How i caught a jellyfish

I lost what i think could be the world's biggest plug. Well, thats what it looked like to me...

It was incredibly ugly and big. Not that i thought it would be beautiful but ive never seen one before and Wow.

Here is the thing-it was tinged with blood. And im 3 cms and 70% effaced.

So should I take this a sign OR could labor still be, say weeks away?

Anedotally, I can tell you that the plugs that fall out in one big chunk like that "usually" mean that baby is comin sooner rather than later (within a few days). When it kind of melts (with lots of snotty discharge) it can be 2-3 weeks. Are you confident about your dates?

Ooh, like a jellyfish. Now there's a good visual! Were there legs and tentacles? I am having flashbacks to our visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. How big was it exactly? Mine was melty last time and it didn't come out until right before transition so I have no idea how much plug actually exists.

Yes, i am totally sure of my dates. To the hour almost. But i was on bedrest for cervical funneling too, so my cervix supposedly isnt very strong. I say supposedly because Ive been of bedrest since at least week 31-32 and cervix is doing its thing.

So ok, because it had blood and came out in one piece i should get excited? I mean, of course Im excited already but Im just afraid to let myself REALLY get excited kwim?

Well if it happened to me I would call all my support people and tell them it would be soon. Seriously for me that would mean labor is a few hours away. Since last time I lost my plug just after my water broke! When it came out in pieces labor was just a few days away. I would get excited for sure!

I ain't lost a plug YET. Which is okay and totally cool with me, but I don't know what the hell it's gonna look like.
