Would it be uncooth to take a baby out in just gerber undies and a shirt? I'm in Louisiana and it's already around 80 degrees. it'll be close to 100 next month. I expect a lot of misses, and I'd rather not have the hassle of shorts over the undies.

depends if it bothers you! I plan on having DS in trainers this summer, and most of the time he'll just be in a onesie or t-shirt over them. Too hot for anything else. Heck, at home I doubt he'll be in anything but trainers! If it helps, my friend was potty training her daughter last summer and we went out with her in trainers and a t-shirt, and everyone just smiled when they saw her, and we were in a resturaunt! So I figure, if it didn't offend people there, why should it bother people anywhere else. People probably won't notice that its not a diaper actually, since people only see what they want to see...

i dont think so. i live in london, not nearly as hot obviously, and in the summer ive seen babies out in nothing but tshirt and diaper. i dont think most people would think anything of it.

Thanks everyone. I've solved this problem. I sewed some folded gerber diapers into his thin cotton pants, so I no longer have the need for undies.
