My mother has only been here a few hours and...

SHE IS ALREADY PISSING ME OFF!!!!! I'm sure if I have a little chat with her, she will stop being so weird... fortunately it's not a situation where she is going to stress me out and piss me off the whole time she is here, which will be about two weeks! I know how to handle her, and I am sure I will have to, but SHE IS REALLY BEING WEIRD AND IRRITATING and I don't need this!!

She got here and looked at Sophie and called her a "perfect specimen". I thought that was odd. We all took naps (she had a 13 hour bus trip here) and after that I got in the shower. She, DH and DS are grocery shopping right now. Before they left, she called me "milk maid" which is better than what she called me when DS was a baby, which was "milk bags" (AGHGHGHG!!! I told her that was demeaning and she stopped, looks like I will have to "work" with her again). Then they needed to go so I got Sophie from her and put her in the Moby. Mom said it looked weird and why didn't I put her down in the crib. As I was explaining that I'd miss her early feeding cues, she started walking away from me to her room (downstairs) and never heard what I was saying, then DH came and asked me the same thing, I started bawling and told him I was going to go lock myself in my room! (He had no idea what Mom just said because he was getting DS ready to go.) If I don't get Sophie to breast RIGHT NOW when she wakes up, she goes from zero to PISSED in about 10 seconds and is almost impossible to latch on!

So I can see that I will have to get in her face and make it plain and clear that she will not make comments and leave us to do this how we want and see fit, she is generally supportive but tends to run off at the mouth and say really strange things and she just doesn't think. I think she will feel bad when she hears she has hurt my feelings and stressed me out already, but she tends to do this sort of thing and I'll have to just handle her... ugh
