So - I'm a little bummed today. I've been having PTL issues since 25ish weeks and have been on Brethine "as needed" since 28 weeks. I have back off using it over the past month because I didn't want to disrupt anything that actually should be happening. Of course, I've had contractions but they were normal....not regular or painful and would stop once I slept. I'm 35 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I can stop the Brethine at 36 weeks. And wouldn't you know it...I honestly think the contractions I had today would have turned into true labor. They were every 3 min. and painful. They did not stop when I showered or rested. But of course.....I had to break down and take a Brethine!!!!!! If it had only been 5 more days. 5 DAYS!!!! I could have let it progress. What a bummer.

I had PTL from 29 weeks on with my DS. I stopped taking meds the day I hit 36 weeks, and DS was born at 36w5d. This pregnancy has been completely textbook and now I am 38w2d and no signs of labor in site!!! It's so weird that my uterus contracted like crazy and squished poor DS, and now with this one nothing is happening. I'm almost sure I'll go past my due date, even though that wil drive me completely insane, lol. I hope your baby is born healthy, safely, and soon.

DO NOT feel bad about stopping the contrax! Having had twins at 34w6d (which made them 35 weekers in my mind, 34 weekers in the mind of the hospital - plus the cascade of interventions that brings with it) you will be grateful for letting them cook a few days longer. You can do it!
