Can panic attacks be part of PPD? - Page 2

That is a good question why me Dr called it GAd and not PAD. Maybe since dd is close to one year old, but I went to see that Dr when dd was 7 months old and I had been having issues for about 2 months before that.

I do know that the fish oil works. We got some bad news today: ,not terrible and nothing we will not overcome, but definately news that would have sent me over the edge befor I started the fish oil. I felt a panic attack coming on and I took the RR and wow what a difference it made.

I have not heard of Krill oil or Emotional Ally. Did you find the Emotional Ally on the web somewhere? Was that an everyday thing or just as needed like the Rescue Remedy? I like to explore all possibilites since no one thing works for everyone.

I have recently been suffering from Anxiety attacks (less severe than a panic attack, I think) and my doc recommended Gaba Calm. It does seem to help and you can take it while bfing.

Not sure of this would be enough for you, but worth looking into?

Hi, This may be my first post- but its something that's quite important to me. I had PPD for 2 years -undiagnosed. When my 2nd child was born, I had awareness to the fact that I may need more help. I also had a few panic attacks. My therapist recommended these things:
*behavior modification- listening to relaxation tapes (but who has time) I used my hypnobithing tapes when I DID have time. I thin kshe recommended Alice Domar?
*holy basil- it helps with cortisol (a stress hormone) but Hale's has it listed as an antigalctogogue (it didn't effect my milk supply)
*omegas, omegas, omegas
* I went on Zoloft and over the course of the 18 month treatment I topped the dosage at 250mg... two years of PPD will do that to you (most recommended by Hale for nursing mothers)
*I also had Rescue Remedy (just bought a new bottle today!!) I use it for tough nights and it was great during labor!!
*Seeing a homeopath was the MOST helpful- I got my constitutional and was well on the way to recovery
I shouldn't say that the homeopath was the most helpful- seeing Lisa, my therapist was educational and brought me to much self awareness. She specailized is women's issues. She was down with the AP lifestyle. (My ifrst therapist said I had 'new mother syndrome' and was just tired and that my baby would be okay to cry)We also moved closer to family and to civilization so I wasn't isolated- I made friends !!! Talking about it and being an advocate for moms has made me feel most powerful. Sort of self theraputic you know? (seen by this long post...LOL)
Just last week- while DH and I were in an argument : he told me to call her (we recently had #3) but I know I don't need to. Because I know my signs.
