Tax Software

Hi ladies,

I am about to do our taxes for the first time in a few years (we have paid an accountant in prior years). We own our own home but otherwise our taxes are pretty simple. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good program I can buy? Something user-friendly, Mac compatible, and reliable. Thanks!

I use turbotax.com to do my taxes. All online, don't pay until you file or print, very user friendly. Since it's a website, I'd assume it's mac compatible.

Also, not sure of your income, but if you are low income go to Untuit's Tax Freedom Project. You may qualify to e-file for free. We've used this for the past 3yrs and it is easy and you if you chose direct deposit, it's really fast.

Yup, I qualified for "tax freedom" by like $50. I only had to pay $9.99 for state taxes.

Look in the Frugality and Finances section. There's been a thread recently on this topic. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! We probably don't qualify for the free filing but can't hurt to double-check. Thanks for the tip! I will head over to Frugality to check out the thread there for more ideas.
