Name help, yet again...

We've finally narrowed down our girl name options. We've had the boy name picked for months, but haven't even sat down to discuss girl names until tonight (i'm due in 1.5-2 weeks). But we're torn and I'd love some feedback.

We like to do family names or at least *versions* of family names, which limits our options. The women in my family have *horrible* names (they think so too), and the women's names in DH's family have either already been used (for my neice) or are Dutch (which is fine, I'm just explaining). DD's name is Robin Hendrika. Robin is after my father, grandfather and brother, who are all ROberts, and Hendrika is the name of 2 of DH's aunts (middle name for one, first for the other).

So we've picked a first name and have it narrowed to 2 middle names, any input is appreciated.

Lucia - first name, after DH's mother who's actual name is Louise, but everyone calls her Loes (like Luce) except people who don't know her well, and they call her Lucy (MIL and all her siblings have 3 names - their birth name, their family nickname, and the name everyone outside the family calls them.)

2 possible middle names:
Elise - a variation of Elsie. My grandmother's name was Elsie and DH had a great-aunt Elsie.

Yontina - after one of DH's aunt's (she goes by Teen with family and Tina professionally). For this entire pregnancy, when we ask Robin what the baby's name should be, she has said Tina. Otherwise, this name probably wouldn't be on our list. But since she pulled the name out of nowhere and it is a family name, it's in consideration. She has been so sure it's a girl and her name is Tina! I kinda think if it is a girl this would be a way for DD to name her. It would mean both names are from DH's family.

So...
Lucia Elise
or
Lucia Yontina

Lucia Elise would be my choice

MILs mn is Lucia but we would never name a kid after her and she hates the name but I think it's lovely.
I also really like Elise and you could use it as a middle or a first name

Definitely Loo-see-ah, not Loosha.

Lucia Elise is very pretty....

But I love Elise for a first name! I think it sounds nice with Robin.

Not super crazy about Yontina- or even the nickname Tina; but I certainly see how a 2 year old would love the name 'Tina.' Just has the right pitch to it- ya know?!

OK, I was all for Lucia Yontina until you told me it would be lu-see-yah. (We have a restaurant here called Lucia's pronounced Loo-sha's which is why it came into my head first.) Loo-see-yah-yon-tee-na is just too ... I don't know... it almost seems over the top. Loo-see-yah-tee-nah is too much like the Lucitania. so I guess I would vote for either Lucia Elise OR Lucia Elise Yontina - who says you have to stick to two names? Nothing wrong with 3!!

Yeah! I vote for Lucia Elise Yontina.

AH Jen - mentioning the sinking of the Lucitania to a social studies teacher - good way to make a point!

Well, seems like Lucia Elise is pretty unanimous here. ANd as for 4 names - well, all our kids will have 2 middle names, they get my last name as middle name #2, and DH's last name as their last name. I think 5 names would be a bit wordy!

I don't think Yontina is as pretty as Elise. But RObin has a dutch middle name, and if this child is a boy he will get DH's dutch middle name (Noordermeer - we're clearly not above torturing children with long, complicated names ) - I think DH is kinda attached to the Dutch-ness of it, but we'd never call her Tina.

Thanks so much for all the input! I like Elise better too - also b/c it reflects both sides of the family. We'll see what happens...

See what happens - you know what will happen - you'll have a boy

I'm still for all of the names! They flow so nicely! But of course it's your kid and not mine! xo j
