Or is just here?? And what kind of schedule do they have??

I'm curious....

Not only are other developed countries vax happy, but many of them are beginning to "conform" to the United States schedule in terms of vaccines and number of doses.

Yes, but in some countries like Germany and UK for example there are no mandatory vaccines for school-entry. The doctor's may push the vax but it's a lot easier to decline.

My SIL is in Japan and she told me that they do basiclly the same immunizations as the US but dont start until 4 or 6 months and then only 1 injection per visit. The autism rate in Japan is skyrocketing ( her sister is doing her masters in child psych and she works with them)

Her youngest is 5 months and they have decided to delay vaccinations for a while yet. When she and my brother were in texas a good friend of my brother had a child that went for his "school" shots. With in 3 weeks the little boy had rapid onset autism. It scared the bejesus out of them. My shot happy military career brother is now reformed to delay/anti vax where his sons are concerned. He has no choice for himself being Army. My SIL was under the impression to go to school in the US her boys would need their shots. I told her about the religious exemption she laughed and said if they gave her any trouble she would just start explaining her religion in Japanese.

The former Soviet Union and Cuba have mandatory vaccinations for the populus.

Just the kind of systems we should emulate.

not any more. vax aren't mandatory in russia any longer. also they will never give shots if a child wasn't feeling well lately. also TONS of medical conditions that are not a contradictory to vax here are there. much less vax as well...

As far as I am aware, there are no 'mandatory' vaccines in Canada. For infants they do three sets 8 wks apart starting at 8wks old. I haven't encountered any pushiness at all about not vaccinating, so i get the impression that Canada is pretty lax.

Well, not necessary, I know it al depends on which city you live and how much of a strong person you are! I mean come on- don't you remember Russian Dr Yulia- they could be very rude and pushy! :

I think it depends where you are with regards to how pushy they are.

Because of the way the Canadian constitution is written, vaccines will never be manditory here. However, very few people know that. Almost all the people I talk to think that you *have* to have vaxes. I've been pushed around by 2 GPs and the Health Unit, and they try every tactic except the law one because they know it won't fly with me.

This is our schedule.

Yes- I believe there are no mandatory vax's in Canada. That said it is expected that you will vax and some Dr.'s will give you a hard time about it. I know one lady who's Dr. refused to treat her kids anymore if she didn't vax.
And the assumption is definately that kids cannot go to school if not vax- which of course isn't the case- just what they want us to believe.
Maybe different areas of the country are different- I am in a city border the US and we are very influenced by the US.

Regardless of whether a country technically mandates vaccines for school entry, the compliance rates in those countries without mandates are pretty high and the availabilty and ease of obtaining exemptions in the United States hasn't made a dent in the compliance rates. In fact, it's higher than ever.

In other words, mandate or no mandate, all developed countries are "vax happy" and overall compliance rates are considered high.

In most people's mind, vaccines = a healthy child. And when a new vaccine comes out or another dose is added, it's typically welcomed with open arms regardless of whether it is mandated for school entry.

No mandatory vaccines for school entry in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Denmark, UK, Finland, Estonia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden.

Doctors push a similar, more delayed, a few shots less vaccine schedule as in the US but there are no laws or mandates to get them in the countries I
listed.

You do not have to show a vaccine record to enter school.

my daughter was born in italy and lived there for her first year. their vax schedule is similar to ours with the exception that it's a public health system and vaccinations are required - not just for school, but in general.

since we moved to the US we receive letters from the italian department of health (because my daughter is an italian citizen) asking for our health records to prove that she's complying. we risk (at the least) fines if she's not kept up to the italian requirements, and they will check her records the next time we try to enter the country (her passport is italian). she may be refused entry/quarantined until she is up to date.
