Anyone have this? Apparently its pretty common. My doc is sending me to get bloodwork this week to see if I have it. Just curious to see what others who have had it went through.

My eldest sister had this with her youngest child and it resolved itself a while later. She did use synthroid for a while but tapered off as it resumed normal function.

I have it. I developed it after both of my pregnancies. My levels were normal during my second pregnancy but it came back again after I delivered. There was a thread about this not too long ago and I know there were others here who have it as well.

I suspect I have it but since I don't have a doctor or insurance I'm just trying to feed my thryroid. I'm taking a fish oil supplement, coconut oil as a supplement as well as sometimes cooking with it and taking a good food based vitamin.

I'm also looking into iodine supplements and seeing what other info I come across.

My mom is having some weird thyroid and reproductive issues and I so want to avoid what she is going through right now.

Oh, here's a search with results of postpartum thyroiditis.

I believe some women's thyroids start functioning normally after a bit. :

My thyroid went hyperactive after my 2nd birth. It's just now gradually starting to resume normal function at 2 years PP. I didn't have to medicate but did take natural supplements to help.
