I am posting this across the boards, since I am really really trying to escape the cykle of Pitocin here!
Hey everyone,
I am looking for input here. I am past 39 weeks and woke up this morning with my water broken. Took it easy, did not panic and informed my midwife and practice 3 hours later.
Now about 14 hours have past- and nothing more has happened. I am pretty sure, that that is not just a leak, it is pretty intense gushing when I walk.
Of course the Hospital is already waving the Pitocon IV at me- they "give" me my 24 of peace- I went back home.
They have been pretty good so far- they kept their fingers out of me, no internals and so on.
But I know that from tomorrow morning on they WILL bug me massively. And of course it is easier said then done to keep them at bay- since running around with ruptured membranes isn't exactly the most comforting thing in the world either.
I don't have a fever, GBS negative- how long did you go with ruptured membranes and no labor? I am crampy but by no means is this labor.
I am just really really afraid right now to be heading down the slippery slope of Pitocin and everything that comes with it.
Tomorrow morning it will have been more than 24 hours and I am not really sure on how to feel about this. I got out of the hospital, no internals as of yet- but I just don't know I can do this running around with my water broken and no signs of labor. Nipple stimulation, walking- I guess my body just ignores all those things.
