Hi! We are in the process of filling out an application for a USDA rural loan ... It says on the application requirements "You must have good credit" .. Anyone have a heads up on exactly what they are looking for in terms of credit? Are they flexible? We have a lot of old charge offs, and our scores are in the mid to low six hundreds. If anyone has been through the process with them before and could give me any info, it'd be much appreciated!!! Thanks!

We applied for a USDA loan (or it was something similar - it's been so long!) several years ago and our credit wasn't perfect. They didn't care too much about the medical bills but wanted us to clean up our credit before they'd think about approving us.
If you had any "little things" on your credit to take care of, if it were me I'd work on those first, and then tackle the higher amount ones. It should help get your credit score up. I think that being the 600's is not doing to bad to begin with.
