Help me choose a potty!

Thread Starter
I have a very tall but thin 13 m/o ds. I read alot of threads here about the pottys...I really think a bebe jou is our best bet, but I can't find one anywhere!!! We have hard wood floors, so I am weary of the bblp or the pot at the ec store...still, I was leaning towards the pot, but then someone said the sides collapse? I also read that the bblp is not good for boys? Do you think the bbpd is too big? I want to get one that is transportable for room-room travel as well...maybe having the bbdp set up in bathroom and then a little potty to transport around, but is getting the bblp a bad idea with a boy? Any thoughts? TIA!

I don't have a boy, but we have a bebe jou and a BBLP. I prefer the bebe jou because I can see into it while DD is sitting (sometimes she sits long after she is done and plays!) and it has a piece of rubber around the bottom edge which helps prevent sliding on the floor. Both are easy to transport around the house or town.

I found bebe jou at Target - maybe you can find it online?

Good luck!

I was unable to find bebejou.

I have the BBLP and my son is almost 3 months. It works OK, but I would probably look for s/t else. If I'm not holding him back, his genitals get kinda squished. And there's nothing to prevent it from sliding. I think it works for us now b/c he is so little, I have it up on the counter in the bathroom and it is easy to hold him there. And he looooves to look at himself, and me, in the mirror. It is too cute.

Just to clear things up...the sides on the pot don't collapse, its just that the plastic is kind of bendy...I'm sure that someone who knows something about physics can explain that the plastic being "soft" doesn't matter because of the pressure being equal around the base or something like that . The pot is probably good for an older child, its awfully low to the ground, but pretty big around...you could probably sit on it without a problem...well, if you had stubby little legs! It is pretty high in front, so it would probably solve any splashguard issues that the BBLP would have. The pot's not too bad (WAY too huge for a little baby, but I bet it would be good for a toddler)

You could also check out the BB potty chair, its made more for toddlers, although the only person who I knew had one had a girl, so I'm not sure how it works for boys. She found hers at Babies R Us, so maybe you can check it out.
