My baby was born!

Hi everybody! Just wanted to share that my second son was born May 16, 2003 and we are just delighted to have him. He weighed 9 lb. 13 oz. and although I pushed forever and his shoulders got stuck in my pelvis, he left me with only a superficial tear which I chose not to have repaired. We had planned a waterbirth, and although I used the tub during labor and tried to birth in it, I couldn't get a good pushing position and so ended up actually delivering in the bed. I was so happy to go into labor spontaneously (thanks, full moon!!!), to labor in a variety of positions with my husband as involved as could be (he had to dig into my lower back because I was having back labor the whole time), and to birth naturally with no drugs. It was quite a different experience from my first birth (induction/epidural/episiotomy). Hurt a heck of a lot more, of course, but left me with more of a feeling of empowerment, and I seemed to recover so much faster. Anyway he is just as sweet as can be, with a head full of gorgeous copper hair and a pair of big beautiful eyes, which are slate gray now but will turn light blue like everyone else's in our family. Big brother adores him and kisses him constantly; he always wants to hold him and have a "group hug." We feel blessed beyond measure. Thank you, Lord!

Thank you so much frogertgrl. I have actually been thinking about you the past few days with respect to your pregnancy. I remember your posting about your concerns...I wanted to let you know that I also struggled with the idea of bringing another baby into our family, especially so soon...would I love him as much as ds#1? Would I have the resources to meet both of their needs? Etc. etc. But I just wanted to let you know that when the baby is born, it all does come as naturally as pregnancy itself and you will be just overcome with your new one. Best of luck and keep us updated.

That was beautiful. I mimic your experience with my 3rd child being my first all-natural birth. Even the back labor was similar . . . the only comfortable position for me was squatting with my body laying over the hospital bed. My mother held my arms from the other side while Jeff pushed against my lower back as well.

Amazing - - - >> thank you for sharing!
