...your 6 yo enacts the "Stories Onstage" program... and it's not even one of your favorites.

...the same 6 yo still talks about the time you introduced her to the local NPR religion reporter at a party.

Is my kid the only kid who does this?

Mine don't. My five year old asked me the other day to turn it off as it gives her a headache.: Whaaaaaaaa But it's my solace.....

I can only hope that one day ds will think NPR is cool!

When Michael was two, he'd always yell "No, I'm Ann Taylor!" after she would say, "I'm Ann Taylor."

All my kids love the Car Talk guys, and Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.

Michael hates Fresh Air, though.

Lily loves NPR. but she doesn't do anything cool like that.

My kids think Mary Cantel's name is hysterical (she does the traffic on the philly station). They always say "Mary Can't Tell us the traffic!"

They think Prairie Home Companion is funny too. There was one a few weeks ago where they were doing a skit on Oprah, and Oprah gave out Russian Wolfhound (i know, it's not russian, but that's what they said) puppies to the audience. The kids were beside themselves, and now every once in a while one of them will go "Look under your chairs! Russian Wolfhound puppies for everyone!" and crack up.

When dd was in pre-school somehow Click and Clack came up and her teacher discovered dd listened to them and knew all about them.

DS1 loves CarTalk and Wait, Wait. We listen to it every Sat. morning while we clean. DS has a radio jacket-it has little speakers in the hood- and he told me, the other day, that he was listening to NPR at recess.

When DS and I are out and about on Saturday mornings we usually catch part of the Wait Wait. Whenever I laugh out loud at stuff he joins in with me with his hilarious laugh.

When you are watching Iron Chef and your dd points out that one of the judges is on the radio.

Mo Rocca is on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Iron Chef

She recognized his voice.

That is cool!

One year I actually skipped church Christmas morning because I wanted to hear David Sederis reading his Christmas elf story.

It's a great story! His voice makes it that much better than actually reading it to yourself.

Lastnight I was just listening to This American Life's David Sedaris X-mas special and I could not tolerate his voice! It was the first time I had ever heard it though. Whenever I have read something of his I always have a much different voice going on inside my head. His voice seemed to make it not as funny. I just bought an audio book of his and I don't know if I will be able to make it through it.
