Suing when he's 18?

I'm have a MySpace w/ an anti-circ statement not only in my "about me", but an anti-circ bumper sticker in my pictures area. I had this 16-year-old post a comment saying he was circ'd as an infant and hates it. I posted a comment telling him he could always sue the doctor when he turns 18 and that he's one of the rare cases where time is actually on his side; for many, it's too late. He asked me how much he could get (settlement-wise). I was wondering where (perhaps websites) where a circumcised male who is within the statutes of limitation, could go to get info on suing the person who circ'd him.

He isn't the first circumcised teen male to start a conversation w/ me about his unhappiness about his circumcised status. One guy (17) said to me: "I don't remember giving my consent after I was born!" sad It makes me so sad and makes me want to fight harder!

Thanks, all.

P.S. I could give him to the link to this thread.

Hi! Awesome to see you and great be back. Ah, idk... I got kind of discouraged and felt bummed out reading about those who have been mutilated.

If this inappropriate, I can remove this part, but... A couple weeks ago, I was at the YMCA for a night time swim when in the change room, a dad with his 3-year-old (?) son were changing. I'm not sure of the dad's status, but the son was intact. What I found very encouraging is that the father and son weren't shy about nudity (a personal eyeroller of mine; you know, when it becomes a thing of shame), including the showers. The little boy verbally pointed out his father's penis and used the correct the word. I thought that was cool! The father said, 'yes, that's my penis'. He was going over other body parts when it got down to there. The boy then pointed my way saying the same thing (I was on the other bench across from him about 4 or 5 feet away). The dad lied his son down on a towel and got out some skin moisturizer cream to give him a full body massage. This healthy attitude about nudity and bonding w/ your child by massage gave me some hope that there IS a whole new generation of fathers (parents) CHOSING to raise intact sons (no matter the reason) and boys growing up completely intact into grown men and future-fathers w/ the thought process that it's BIZARRE to cut the foreskin off of THEIR sons' penises.

Wow that is so awesome! I am definately putting up somewhat of a fight here in Vermont. I have been in constant contact with our state legislatures. Here is a recent email conversation I had with one of our legislatures that I have been in a lot of contact with:
He emailed me and said this:

"Wanted to let you know that a bill has been introduced regarding
circumcision. You can view it here at:

http://www.leg.state.vt.us/docs/legdoc.cfm?URL=/docs/2008/bills/intro/H-314.HTM"

I emailed him back and said this:

"That is definitely a step forward-but unfortunately people will pay to have their child circumcised even if their insurance doesn't cover it.
I would like there to be a bill that prohibits parents from making this choice for their children. Circumcision is cosmetic surgery and has no medical need. In addition, it is excruciatingly painful and takes away the child's basic human rights to have their genitals intact. Genital mutilation needs to stop. Parents should NOT be able to make the decision to alter their children's genitals. I am prepared to fight this in whatever way I need to make it happen.
I hope this bill you bring to my attention is passed-as it has already passed in other states but I would like to take an even larger step in the direction of banning genital mutilation completely. Female circumcision is illegal in our country with good reason-and we need to protect our baby boy’s genital integrity as well.
Thank you so much for emailing me! We will be in constant conversation about this. Please keep me posted with any new information or ideas.
If you are uncomfortable helping me with this issue, please give me names and emails of other people who might not be. I plan to make this happen."

I really believe that in 15 years circumcision will be only a memory. We all need to fight to make this happen.

I certainly hope so. I know the circ rates have been consistently dropping every year, but with all the new lies about circ and HIV I'm worried they'll flare up again

I think we're being tested. And I must agree with another poster (I don't remember who, I'm sorry) who stated that this is the last thing they can say circumcision "cures". It already "cures" STD's, cancer, masterbation, senility, etc. KWIM?
