What's wrong with me now?

I've just turned into a complete soft-boiled vegetable in the last couple of days, unable to complete simple tasks. Last night I tried to walk from the car into a movie theatre, it took me 15 min. what can normally take 2 min. I was having continuous contractions. They stopped as soon as I sat down in the movies, but strated again when I wanted to walk back to the car. Today I went shoe shopping and almost fainted, then I ate and drank something and it didn't get much better, I'm still waaay beyond exhausted. My brain has turned into a liquid mass, I can't focus and even grocery shopping made my head spin, I got disoriented in the supermarket and could barely find the checkout area. I could barely drive home and collapsed there. I'm at 36 weeks.

What is wrong with me? This didn't happen with my first pregnancy...

How's your iron? Are you sleeping well? Getting any naps? Being sure to tale a few hours a day to rest a bit, at least? Getting enough protein? Drinking enough water?

Sounds like you are worn out! I've made a few changes recently that have boosted my energy. I am already taking a good prenantal and food-based iron supplement. But now I'm having 1 protein shake a day (spiru-tein with milk or soy milk) and I've started taking alfalfa tablets (i got them from GNC, my MW recommends up to 12 a day in the third trimester, but I'm currently taking 8-10 in 2 batches). My energy level has gotten better. I was worried about suddenly gaining weight with the protein increase, but it's replacing less nutritive food, so I actually lost a pound last week.

Even if you can't get in a nap, be sure you are lying down or sitting (with good posture) at least an hour or two in the middle of the day.

Sorry you are having such a tought time!!

I've been feeling like that for weeks! The increased frequency and earlier arrival of early labor contractions is supposed to be normal with subsequent pregnancies, if that makes your mind more at ease. The body, I know, is another story.

I'm on a super-nutritive pregnancy wellness tea every day, along with a great prenatal vitamin and I pound the iron and eat reasonably well, and I still feel drained and get way tired if I'm out trying to be productive doing anything. I remember reflecting after ds was born that my body was trying to prepare me for all the sitting around that you do with an infant, either just cuddling or breastfeeding. Knowing that this time around, though, just makes the incentive higher for me to get it all done before the sitting around time comes! HOWZAT?!!

Please be sure your diet is where it should be (i know, i know... you know, and it's easier said than done, too) and that you're RESTING.

Do you have a way to check your BP at home? It might be worth a sphyg just to have around...

REST, mama. Don't feel guilty for not cleaning the sink, either. This baby will come whether the tilets are scrubbed or not.

I'm taking very good prenatals, plus I eat pretty well, no junk foods and my BP has been great according to my mw. My dh came home from work today as soon as I called him for help and he's been taking care of our very up'n down, cranky and itchy dd. She was at her gp's house for a couple of days and returned with her allergies out of control. They always seem to feed her foods she doesn't tolerate ("oh, poor thing, but she really wanted that!"). Anyway, after trying to get her to nap for two hours I was exhausted and called him for help, so I could nap, which I just did. He's so sweet, but I know he's pushing his limits too now, as he's freelance and dropping balls just to help me. He feels a lot of pressure to make money. SF is VEEEEY expensive, rent prices out in the stratosphere compared to the rest of the country, maybe NYC is the same.

Also, I started feeling sick, like a sratchy throat thing and hot/cold body, so maybe I'm also actually getting sick. I'm taking VSC for that (anti-viral, all natural).

YoBecca, I think the water intake was a bit low yesterday, I have to remind myself to drink more. There is always so much to remember... besides all the limited diet food for my dd, feeding and hydrating myself is something I tend to forget. I'm overwhelmed with everything. My friend had this idea that I should write down what I need help with, so I wrote an email to her, dd's gp's and my dh what that is..., maybe they'll help with stuff, so dh doesn't fall apart before the baby is born. I will need his help with the baby of course. How do single parents EVER do that? I can't imagine how hard that must be.

Sounds like we have similiar symptoms...I was told to increase my fluid intake and get more rest. I hope you feel better soon!

You just described me to a T. My brain is a complete pile of mush and I have zero energy. And I want to cry. The end. :
