Soothing scents for labor

Any suggestions on scents that would be soothing during labor? I was wanting to get some oils (or...?) and wasn't sure where to start. I know what I like normally, but haven't any idea if that would be helpful during labor.

Any ideas?

Lavendar is good. Also, peppermint oil is good to sniff if you're feeling nauseous and/or vomiting.

I have some lavender and rose sprays plus grapefruit EO for the burner. I adore grapefruit - great scent and energizing.

oh I was about to post about this. I want to take some oils to bring into the shower with me at the hospital.
I have a chamomile body wash, the smell is so relaxing, I wonder if chamomile oil has a soothing scent? The peppermint for nausea is good idea, I think I will be one of those with nausea.

Rose! And I really like almond.

I second the almond...I bought some almond oil for massages during labor. I have Burt's Bee's Almond Milk hand lotion, and can't drink enough milk with Simply Organic Almond Extract in it (don't use the cheap stuff, it's awful!!!) Oh, I think I have an almond candle or two as well!
