Weird Question?

Just a weird question, perhaps you ladies (and guys?) could help me out. A couple of weeks ago, DH and I, well, you know and it was about the right time to conceive and I had an IUD. Now, I know a copper IUD prevents pregnancy by irritating the uterine lining and this prevents the zygote from implanting in the uterus. About 3 or 4 days after we DTD, I had the IUD removed. I know implantation happens about 6-8 days after fertilization, so, just wondering, is it possible to be pregnant? I wouldn't mind being so (an "accident" would be welcome!).

Lisa, I guess it is possible, though probably unlikely. If it's been a few weeks, you could probably test now.

Lisa, I had an IUD removed, too. My understanding is that once it's removed, you can "get pregnant that night." Which, I would assume that a babe could implant about that time, too. I'd go ahead and test if I were you. Have you had regular PPAF? I still haven't had one and was wondering about possible pregnancy when my IUD was removed, too. I wasn't though.

Oh, and by any chance, did you have unexplained illness with the IUD? I caught colds/flue every 7-10 days in the months before I had it taken out. Just now, I'm not so sick anymore. It was odd. I thought it might be IUD related.
