RRL tea bringing on contractions?

Saturday night I came home and drank three glassfuls of my usual RRL tea in the fridge. about 30 minutes later I was having what I would call more than BH contractions. I tried laying down and drinking water, which was just unconfortable, sitting up wirth legs wide apart leaning forward on the couch just trying to breathe helped. if i tried changing positions, leaning back or sitting normal they would start up again. once they subsided I went to take a shower and they srated right back up again. so back on the couch in position I went.

A couple of hours later they went away. The next day I had some tea again, and came the contractions again, but less intesne and not as long. Could it have been the tea? I'm due next week tuesday so I figure since the contractions are supposed to be good for getting uterus ready (right?) I shouldn't be too concerened.

Maybe it was coincidence with the tea, I drank some watered down today and nothing.
Any ideas?

Exactly. That is what happens with me, too. I usually only drink one or 2 cups (hot) but those ctx are STRONG

I think I'll go make myself a few cups of RRL tea .

I'm due April 6, and someone had suggested that I begin drinking RRL tea. First of all....I'm only 35 weeks on Friday. Isn't that a little early to be trying to give myself contractions? And second of all..where would I even buy RRL tea? Does it taste good? LoL!

Thanks ladies! Happy labor vibes to you all! Tomorrow is MARCH 1st!!

Hi
I have actually been drinking RRL tea from ending of first trimester. It is stronger now, since that is what is advised.
There is an ongoing thread here : http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=347728
There is a lot of reading! so if you get stuck just ask, but many of the questions you might have are answered there.

The flavor is questionable. Some people like it, some don't. I can drink it with honey, sometimes I mix it with pineapple juice, or lemon juice.
I had never gotten the contraction reaction until this past weekend. SO I am not sure it is because it is so close to due date together with RRL or just coincidence.
My midwife advised me to wait until 3rd trimester to start drinking, but when I told her the amount I was drinking at second trimester she said well, that's ok.
Many mommas here have been drinking it throughout their whole pregnancy.

Hope that helps!

Blah. It's about that time.

By the way, I LOVE the taste. It's very... earthy.
